VMware Technical Sales Professional

I would like to share my gladness when I passed my Certification in VMware Technical Sales Professional last November 2012.

To achieve this certification you need first to register to VMware (you must be a partnet before you can register) through their website VMWare. Then pass the six(6) exams for VMware Technical Sales Professional. They are the following:

1. Architecture
2. Installation
3. vCenter
4. vManagement
5. vNetworks
6. vStorage

If you pass those six exams then you will become an official VMware Certified for Technical Sales. They have trainings that will help you to pass the exams.

Hope this has been informative to you and thank you for reading.

Cannot Find the Word Document Template: WordToRqm.dot

My co-employee has been bothered with this MS Word error "Cannot Find the Word Document Template: WordToRqm.dot". Every time he opens his word document this error message is prompting.

And because he was bothering (before it was resolved) he also bothered me. hahaha. But yes, I know, I know.. this has nothing to do with Computer Networking. But if you have been bothered by your co-employees you would not think twice to share it in your blog, a procedure how to resolve the error. So that next time you would not be bothered by a co-employee, you would just give the link. hahaha It's a joke :p Anyways, here is the resolution.

1. Go to Start
2. Click Run, type regedit
3. On Registry Editor expand:
                   - HKEY_CURRENT_USER
                       - Software
                           - Microsoft
                              - Office
                                 - Word
                                    - Addins (none in Win XP)
                                       - WordToRQM12, modify LoadBehavior, the value to 2.
4. Close the Registry Editor and Open the MS Word.

Hope it had been helpful to you and thank you for reading.

What Network Does?

Before I begin sharing my lesson about this subject let me first tell you the meaning of Computer Network. According to Mr. Wikipedia, Computer Network is simply as a collection of computers and other hardware interconnected by communication channels that allow sharing of resources and information. Yes, well he's right. It is a connection of many devices such as computers, servers, printers or telephone. I made here a graphic to illustrate the meaning of network. Check the image below.

As you can see, every single device are connected to each other, whether they are from the same building or to a far places. If your are using an internet to check your facebook, twitter or emailing a friend, guess what?... your device belong to a network and you are using a network and consuming a bandwidth, means may pakialam ka!

I love the explanation of Jeremy of CBTNuggets about computer network, but to define it in my own version I'll tell you a story..

Dave Madayag, a Malungay Life Oil distributor asked me to deliver a one box of Life Oil to our valued costumer in Angeles City. By the way, Malungay Life Oil is a food supplement which we sell and it's not related to computer networking. hahaha! To continue the story, we are in Manila and in my return he expect me to have the money in exchange for our product.  Now, for me to get to the our valued costumer in Angeles City I need to ride a bus because Angeles City is miles away from Manila.

From the story you have read, do you know which one is the Network? Dave Madayag? Nope, in Computer Network, the role of Dave Madayag is the Application, because he is the person sends me a command. Me? Life Oil? Money? Bus? Nope. Life Oil and Money are the data. Me and the bus are the packets because we carry the data. Do know you what is the network? It is the road, the road where the packet and data will pass. The road is the connecting line between Dave Madayag and our valued costumer or Manila and Angeles City.

Meaning, computer network is building roads, road to interconnect the different devices which we can use to gather information and data, and to communicate to other people as if your not far from them.

I hope I made it clear to you what network does.. Thank you for reading this blog. :)

About The Learner

I am Ryan Cassandro S. Perez, born in a small town in Pampanga on March 1986. I graduated at AMA Computer Learning Center (ACLC) Apalit Pampanga on May 2007 with 2-year course, Computer System and Network Technology. I used to study BS in Computer Engineering at Bulacan State University (BulSU) way back 2003 back did not able to finish it because of health problem. I came back to study on 2005 and graduated at ACLC with an Excellence Award, wherein my highest grade was on my major subject - Networking.

After I graduated, I went to Makati City to find a job, fortunately I managed what I am pursuing. Currently I am working at Asian Business Solutions, Inc. with the position of Product and Technical Support Specialist II. Our company is an IT software developer company focusing on Document Management System and Insurance. Last October 2012 was my 5th year in the IT industry, I received my service award last 2010.

On September 2012 I attained IBM Filenet Certified Professional on my belt in this following modules: EMC Essentials Certified 2A and 4.0,  Business Development, IBM Filenet Content Management-Designer 4.5 and IBM Filenet Content Manager-Administrator 4.5.

On October 2012 I became an IBM Certified Specialist in these following modules: Filenet Content Manager 5.1 and Filenet Business Process Manager 5.1.

On November 2012 I took an exams for VMware Technical Sales Professional 5 and VMware Sales Professional and I passed both exams.

But what I look forward and dream of is to pass the certifications for Cisco (CCENT, CCNA, CCNP and CCIE). I am now working for these certifications. And I believe with the help and grace of the LORD and my patience and hard work, this will be attainable.

I have been asked, what is your greatest achievement as an IT professional. You know what it is? To be an IT professional for 5 years is such an achievement. But in the IT industry (I believe this also works in general), learning should never stop because technology is fast progressing. We should never left behind.
